Love + Type: Cuddle

It's a gray, snowy Monday and I really wish I could just hop back into bed and snuggle with this cute pup.

In this new weekly series, I'll be sharing photos of the things I love combined with some lettering practice. It's meant to be a fun, light-hearted way of showing you what inspires me, while also giving me the opportunity to practice new lettering techniques. Also, I hope it'll help me get in the habit of practicing my skills on a more regular basis.

Font Love and a Sneak Peek

When it comes to designing, I've found that selecting the right font can often be the most tedious and time-consuming part of the process. It's hard to find that balance of using a type that is subtle enough to not be distracting but powerful enough to convey the right meaning and emotions. This is where typography truly becomes an art form within itself and the reason why I have spent countless hours trying to track down the perfect fonts. As a result, I often use my own hand lettering in my designs, but every once in a while I come across a font that is too beautiful to resist. Here are just a few of my favorites, along with a snapshot of a greeting card design I am working on using Ribbon.

Shop Update No. 2: New Cards

Four new cards have been added to the shop! My personal favorites are the "You Rock" and "You're Amazing" cards which were created with my friends in mind following the huge outpouring of support I received since my shop opening. Also, because I am a fan of simple love notes, I created the "You + Me" card to serve as a sweet gesture any time throughout the year. And lastly, the "Happy Birthday" card combines fun fonts with a bold starburst pattern and is perfect for any recipient. You can find them all here.
