Palm Springs Travel Guide

Palm Springs Travel Guide | Evermore Paper Co.

This past Memorial Day weekend, Travis and I jetted off to Palm Springs for a relaxing adventure in the desert. We usually take camping trips this time of year, but after how much we enjoyed last year's trip to Miami, we wanted to take a similar approach to help ease us into the summer months. Thankfully, there were still plenty of outdoor activities to embrace and when mixed with great dining and poolside relaxing, we found ourselves in the best of both worlds.

STAY
We stayed at Korakia Pensione in the Thessaly Suite. The ornate grounds, charming rooms, quiet ambiance and daily brunch surpassed all of our expectations. It's the perfect place if you're looking to unwind in a more peaceful setting and we wish we could have stayed longer.

EAT + DRINK
Workshop Kitchen + Bar - Amazing drinks and food made even better by our awesome bartender.
Norma's - Great brunch/lunch spot in a trendy atmosphere.
Le Vallauris - Lobster ravioli. Enough said.
Truss + Twine - Try the Green Philter!
The Natural Sisters Cafe - We stopped in for some refreshing smoothies after our trip to Joshua Tree. The food looked great too!

SEE + DO
- Take a bike ride through Deepwell Estates to admire the great mid-century architecture.
- Palm Springs Aerial Tramway -  Hike the Desert View Trail (1.5 mi) for gorgeous valley vistas.
- Joshua Tree National Park - Just a short drive away for scenic views and great hikes. We went up Ryan Mountain for the views and then over to Hidden Valley to take in the cool rock formations.

Desert vibes all around

We loved every minute of our stay and like any trip, had a tough time squeezing in everything that we wanted to do. Here are a few things on out list for next time, because I think it's safe to say we will be heading back sooner rather than later.

- Drinks at Bootlegger Tiki - You can't go wrong with a Tiki bar!
- Dinner at Birba - Chill looking scene
Dune Buggy Rentals - We saw this on our way out and were so sad to have missed it
- Dinner at Mister Parker's
- Hike through Tahquitz Canyon
- Check out more of the local galleries and mid-century vintage shops

Evermore is heading abroad!

I'm excited to announce that Travis and I are headed to London for three months starting September 10th. September 10th...as in a week from this Saturday! I'm pretty much bursting with excitement and it's been so hard keeping this a secret, but I've been waiting for all the details to fall into place before sharing the news.

The reason for our trip is so that Travis can help his company open their new office. Obviously, I couldn't resist the chance to tag along, especially since we've been hoping for an opportunity like this for years. It's been a goal of mine to get Evermore to a place where I could work remotely and/or travel for an extended period of time and I can't believe that time has finally come. Abbey, my awesome and energetic sister, will be taking over my shipping responsibilities and managing my inventory and I could not be more thankful.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the systems we've put in place will allow business to continue as normal while I'm away and give me the peace of mind to focus on new work and the business end of things. This announcement may seem a little sudden, but it's something I've worked on for the better portion of this year and I know that I am leaving things in the best hands possible. I also put together this little FAQ (mostly for my lovely stockists) to help answer any additional questions.

With that said, I would love to hear your suggestions. We are starting out in an airbnb in Bethnal Green with plans to look for something more permanent once we arrive. What are your favorite restaurants, parks, coffee shops, neighborhoods and things to do? Also, we hope to squeeze in a few side trips, so please share your recommendations for those as well. Bath, Bruges, the Peak District, Edinburgh and Amsterdam are all at the top of our list. Lastly, I'll be covering our journey with #evermoretravels and sharing more of the day-to-day activities on my personal Instagram account, which is @ashleykukulski. I hope you'll follow along!

Cali Recap

I just returned home from a 10 day trip to California where I attended the Renegade Craft Fair in both San Francisco and Los Angeles. Leading up to the shows, my time was pretty much consumed with production, booth prep, and plenty of little behind-the-scenes business-y tasks that I will not bore you with the details of. Now that my schedule has opened up a little, it feels so good to have some time to spend creating again, and of course, documenting the process and results here. After plenty of relaxing and fun in the sun in between shows, I am full of ideas that I can't wait to share with you. Meanwhile, here are some photos from the trip if you'd like to take a look.

I love to travel, and with that comes a love for maps. That is why it should come as no surprise that the use of maps and travel-inspired details has become one of my favorite wedding trends. From save-the-dates and invites to escort cards and guestbooks, I love seeing how other couples incorporate their same love of traveling into their special day.
