Renegade Craft Fair Fall Preview

And just like that, Labor Day has passed and fall is on the horizon. It's shaping up to be an eventful season and I'll be kicking things off this weekend at the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago. This is my fourth time participating in their fall fair on Division Street and it's always my favorite market of the year. Besides getting to sell a few blocks from home, meet my loyal supporters and make new friends, it's the perfect opportunity to discover new and amazing brands.

Here are a few that I've been eyeing and hope to check out...

I'm such a sucker for jewelry and homewares, but am always so impressed with the diversity of products at markets like this. There's something for everyone and definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. I provided more details below and you can find additional info and a full list of vendors here. Hope to see you there!

Happy Birthday Evermore!

Evermore Hooray Confetti Card

Today marks the two year anniversary of when I first opened my shop on Etsy. I am surprised by how quickly it snuck up on me. Often times I am so focused on what's next that I fail to celebrate important milestones as they happen. But since this one is just too big to let it pass by unacknowledged, I will try to give it a proper moment in the spotlight.

Thankful, grateful, happy, excited, and lucky are just a few of the emotions floating through my mind right now. I feel [insert one of those words] to have done something I love for the last two years and [insert another one of those words] that I can keep doing it for another year (and hopefully many more). Whereas last year at this time I was worried about whether I had accomplished enough in my first year, this year feels quite the opposite. I am proud of where Evermore Paper Co. is today and of all the progress that has been made in this past year. I am more confident in the work I am producing than ever before and know that the best of it is still to come.

If there's anything I've learned this year, it's that each step, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem at the time, will always help to paint a larger, more beautiful picture. I realize that so much of the behind-the-scenes work that I put in this year is what contributed to some of my larger successes. So without further adieu, here are just a few of my favorite highlights from this past year...

1. Attending Etsy Open Call and pitching my line to Nordstrom, The Land of Nod, Lou & Grey, The Walker Art Center and Clementine.

2. Adding 25 new stockists to the roster

3. Being featured on Etsy here and here. Along with all this other good press here

4. Participating in 2 pop-up shops at Madewell

5. Dabbling in custom work (more to come on that)

So there you have it! It's definitely been an exciting year, but naturally I can't resist the call of Year Three.

Mid-Summer Hello

Evermore Paper Co. workspace

Poppin' in for a quick hello and to give a few updates on the current state of things here at Evermore Paper Co. Between an influx of new wholesale accounts and a trip to the Etsy headquarters in Brooklyn, NY for the Open Call event, it's been a whirlwind month to say the least. As it turns out, all those nerves I had in June about losing momentum following my two week trip to Norway and Sweden were for nothing. Things are busier than ever before which has put scaling my operations at the forefront of my mind. It's a bit challenging to fully envision what comes next, but I am so excited to have reached the point where Evermore is ready to grow beyond the one-woman show that it currently is.

In the meantime, I want to thank you for joining me in my journey and for your understanding when I'm not able to post as frequently as I would like. I've made huge strides in improving my time-management skills and hope that I can start to share more of my world more regularly. Below are just a few ideas that I have for future posts and I hope that by giving you a peek now, I'll become more committed to writing them as soon as I can.

  • My Norway & Sweden recap
  • Painted-planter diy
  • Open Call recap
  • A detailed glimpse into my production process
  • Free printable business planner

If there is anything else you'd like to see, just let me know. I always love hearing your ideas!

30 Day Minimalism Challenge

30 Day Minimalism Challenge via Into Mind

Hello June! With a two-week vacation on the horizon, this month is shaping up to be quite a good one. At first I was a little nervous that so much time away would cause me to lose momentum with Evermore. However, I now realize that there are so many productive ways that I can use this time that will pay off further down the road. It'll be the perfect opportunity to focus on personal growth, collect inspiration, work on new designs and create a strategic plan for the next few months.

I recently discovered the beautifully-designed blog Into Mind and cannot stop devouring Anuschka's posts. She writes primarily about how to discover your personal style and live a simpler life with less. Her posts are full of useful advice and I thought now could not be any better of time to start her 30 Day Minimalism Challenge. I'm not big into 30 day challenges, but think I can follow through with this one and that some of the habits may actually stick.

Evermore Turns One!

Evermore Paper Co. turns one!

Today is the one year anniversary of the launch of Evermore Paper Co.!

I can hardly believe a whole year has passed already and I'm so happy to reach this milestone. I've learned so much in this past year, not only about running a business, but also about myself, that it's next to impossible to sum it all up. So instead of trying to analyze it all, I'll share that the most important thing I learned this year is that "Yes, I can do this!"

When Evermore started a year ago, I had no idea what would come of it. All I had was this dream to make things that people would want to buy combined with next to zero educational and professional experience with starting a business. And while my fears and doubts occasionally got the best of me, I persisted and became a sponge trying to soak up as much information as I could on how to build my business. Through much trial and error, Evermore continues to grow and I have learned that I have the power to achieve anything I set my mind to. I really believe that this is only the beginning and I'm so excited for all that is still to come.

Of course none of this would have been possible without your support! I'm so thankful for everyone around me who has offered their advice, feedback, and love. It has helped propel me further ahead than I could have ever imagined.

As my thank you to you, I am offering 40% off all purchases in my Etsy shop through the end of today with the code: EVERMORETURNSONE

Enjoy and thanks again!

xx

Plans, Schemes & Dreams 01

Oh Monday, you're such a pain! Especially after a long holiday weekend filled with beautiful weather. To ease back into the week, I like to schedule a quick planning meeting (with myself) to write some goals, checklists, etc. for the week ahead and to make sure I'm on pace with some of the more long-term goals I've set. It's the perfect way to shift my focus from the weekend and I thought it would be fun to share some of the plans, schemes, and dreams that pop up during these "meetings".

Right now, I am....

Planning new designs (and maybe even a few new products) and their corresponding release dates.

Scheming ways to make more connections in Chicago (and elsewhere).

Dreaming about potentially spending a week in California this summer.
